Coromandel Crewel is commissioned in designs reflecting its early English heritage from Tudor and Jacobean times. Meticulous attention to detail ensures that each flower and leaf is first drawn by hand onto the background cloth before being hand-embroidered with equal care.

The Multicoloured Crewels feature carefully selected tones, often slightly muted, in keeping with both modern and traditional homes. Depending on the use to which they are put, they can provide an instantly dramatic or subtle focus in any design scheme. However, they are particularly stunning in period properties with original features such as wood panelling, stonework or oak beams.

Our Natural and Two-tone Crewels combine classical simplicity and elegance with texture and originality. Sunlight adds an unforeseen dimension to our cream on cream fabrics creating a magical quality at certain times of day. These fabrics are extremely versatile being used successfully in settings varying from modern loft apartment and beach-side villa to converted barn and Edwardian townhouse.
